Back in high school I had an idea for an overhead corridor shooter. It wasn't incredibly original or compelling in terms of game play just something I thought would be fun to play with my brothers at home. It was designed from the ground up to be a co-op game, with you and your friend beginning the game trapped in the vats they were grown in, something happens and they awake and bust out.

The first few moments of the game are spent sneaking around in the buff until clothes and a weapon can be located. Your objective is to run and gun with your vat brother though multiple levels and areas of a big research compound facing all kinds of augmented enemies. Along the way the two of you must discover your abilities and upgrade your equipment while finding out who you are, who is responsible, and making them pay.

It's interesting to me that even my earliest game ideas have the concept of progressing over time or increasing in power. I think the types of games that appeal to me are power fantasies, all my favorite games made me feel more powerful the more I played them. Sometimes it was though
itemization like in Diablo or though increasing mastery of the controls like in nikujin. I've posted a few scans of the drawings I did while thinking about the game in the gallery.

It seems I only manged to describe Mission 1 before I wandered off to try and code the game. I don't remember what happened to this project. The sketches are all that remail and this simple description.

Misison 1:
Bust out of the labs and escape the building.
Recieve the help of a lab tecnition who provies some clothes and guns.

I decided to put this domain to good use and post about some of the things I enjoy thinking about and doing. I like games, designing them, developling them, and playing them. I like samurai (and most things japaneese) and I like pixel art. These basic subjects will compose the contents of this blog.

I am going to be sharing a lot of the designs an dplans I have for various games. Someone might ask "What if someone steals your ideas?" Well I'll just have to think of another one I guess, I tend to have many more ideas then time and what differentiates one idea from the next is really how well it's executed not how well its "ideated" (if that's even a word).

That said most of the art I will post on this site will be mine, please dont steal my art as it is my execution and I'm fairly partial to it :)
